    Stanley 39 1/2” dado plane

I’ve been considering for a while and just bought one from Patrick Leach. Any thoughts or advice on this tool?

My use has so far only been for testing. It will be awhile before there is any real need for one of my projects.

Here is my post on stopped dados > https://sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?278928

There is a link included for another post on the #39.

My test use impressed me on how well it worked.

It also enforced my opinion on giving a tool a test run before trying to improve its performance. If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it.

My first impression was the nickers were our further than they should be. Measuring and use proved me wrong.

When you get it set up it is a fun tool to use. I had some trouble with mine at first turned out the blade was sharpened a bit off the proper angle.
