Casework knowledge resource?

For my next couple projects I’m going to delve into some casework. I thought I’d start with a mantle clock. Can any Creekers suggest a good resource for casework know-how? Is like to study up on the fundamentals a bit prior to launching into my typical stream of consciousness build process.
