Hello,

I know this sounds crazy and it probably is. I am wondering about Wildrose stalks and Beaked Hazelnut tree wood and their properties - specifically its resistance to a sauna climate (i.e. moisture). I understand cedar is the way to go - but I am trying to get creative and think outside the sauna (also cheap and would like to harvest locally sourced material). These two plants grow like crazy here in central Alberta and would love to use them. As someone that knows very little about wood and wood properties I have come here is search of knowledge, experience and ideas. I would like to try and harvest them myself, sounds like I would need to dry them??, maybe strip them down, then secure them to the walls of my sauna. I image it looking something like the inside of a hand crafted basket if it was created this way.

Thanks,
Dylan Rude
