    kitchen remodel(work in progress)

The last couple of months I have been working on the kitchen. It still has a lot of work to be done. I replaced the floors and now working on the cabinets. We have slowly been working at this for years. The wife wanted white cabinets(I am generally against painted cabinets) so I painted the boxes and made new cabinet doors to get rid of the cathedral raised panels. I added some 18" cabinets to the top on the vaulted side for extra storage. The Island is new because the microwave needed to go down there. I am still waiting on the range hood. I need to make all the trim. A lot of work still to do. A little bit of history. The built-in between the kitchen and family room, that replaced the railing, was put in about 3 years ago. The bench seats for the breakfast nook were put in about a year ago. It is finally starting to come together. I will spare all of the in between pictures because in a lot of the pictures the kitchen was even messier then the ones I am posting.

It looks great! A big job but it really has turned your kitchen into a very attractive space. Congratulations!

Looking good, always nice to have a "customer" who is willing to be patient and allow the time needed for something this nice to get done. Instead of insisting on done right now.
    Good luck

That's coming along very nicely, Cary! Yes, it's a lot of work, but you are doing it proud!

The cabinet boxes were reused and painted in place. New door and drawer fronts. The island was a complete rebuild to accommodate the microwave and the new trash drawer. I made the extra boxes for the upper level on the stove/fridge side.

    Good man.

Fresh fit and finish, little lost to landfill.

    Kudos

Well with the exception of some minor trim the bulk of the job is done. I had a "change order" to cap off the area above the range hood. I finished the tiling yesterday.
