First time I ever turned redwood. Kind of soft, but I still like it.
15" x 3" platter or shallow bowl. Light figure. BLO and POLY finish, only one coat so far.
Sorry that second picture's so big.... don't know why.... The other one sized okay.

Adam - The bigger the picture the better. Especially when it has such wonderful figure as this one does. I like it. A lot.

I have done so much with so little for so long I am now qualified to do anything with nothing......
P.S. If you are interested in plans for any project that I post, just put some money in an envelope and mail it to me and I will keep it.
Oooohhh! Very nice figure and curl in this piece.
Beautiful! Just curious, is that some redwood that was meant to be turned or is it some redwood that came from a board like you could buy at Home Depot or something?
Awesome wood Adam! Like Travis said....It looks alive. You fit the form to the wood nicely. Nice piece!

Great job. I love red wood. I have question for ya. did it turn well? I have only turn very small chunks of for bird house and found it to be soft and it come apart easy. Now that could just be the stuff I was working with. What did you think?
