Having a time with pine wood

I posted a article earlier about putting amber shellac on pine..I mixed it with mineral spirits and sprayed it on...I noticed there was a place where it was blotched...so I sanded it down to bare wood...then tried to apply the shellac again...it still has a blotchy spot where I sanded. ...can anyone please help me to repair this...thank you

The solvent/reducer for shellac is alcohol, not mineral spirits...

What Jim said. There is something called "wood conditioner". I've never used it but my understanding is that it also reduces blotching. I've had pretty good luck with sprayed shellac. Shellac dries very quick so I'd think applying by hand requires skill and experience to 'keep a wet edge'.
