    V3400 Machine select

I bought an EP module to use with my V3400 New Hermes engraving table. The machine that comes up during boot is 7200. I'm not grasping how to change it. Thanks

turn on power, watch the display-
first up after black squares will say "NEW HERMES ENGRAVING PLOTTER"
next up will be the "Model" display. Immediately press the # button, lower right...
next should say [MOD] TEST DIAG / USE <-- --> TO SELECT
    --press the 'checkmark' button...
now you should have MODEL = V7200 / USE (UP ARROW-DOWN ARROW) TO CHANGE
--press either arrow button to scroll thru the machine choices
note that there's a crapload of V3400 machines with suffixes like V3400 CYL, V3400 PEN, etc stacked together in the list, but the V3400 is by itself in between other machines, easy to miss

When you find it, press the 'checkmark' button, the "SLEW" screen comes up--
press 'checkmark' again, the [MOD] screen comes up--

press the "X" button... the machine will continue booting, the next screen will be the SERIAL - PARALLEL screen; one of them will be in [brackets], which signifies the output port in use. If you need to change it, press the 'checkmark' button, then use the left or right arrow button to bracket the correct port.

---If you're using the parallel port, press X and it'll finish booting, you're good to go.

---If you're using the serial port, press the 'checkmark' button, and that'll take you to the baud settings, which normally should be set to 9600 - 8 - none - 1 - x-on/x-off for these machines...

Navigating the menu can be a pain with these things, just remember that the 'checkmark' button will either take you to the next item within a menu, OR, it will stop at a menu if they're auto-scrolling. OR in some cases it just acts as an 'ok' button (can drive you nuts)... The X button acts as an END button that saves the settings of the menu you're in, then moves on to auto-scrolling until booted... (hope that helps!)

Once the machine is fully booted up, HOLD THE CHECKMARK BUTTON for a few seconds until the 'table defaults' screen appears, the press the checkmark again. This saves all the settings you just made. If you don't it'll revert back to the V7200 settings on the next boot.
