    Bruce, The extension table supported sleds and also gave me additional capacity with a miter gauge. It was very useful to prevent sled tipping when pulled fully forward of the blade.

    Mine in the OP won’t cause accidental shutoff. You can kick it at the bottom and nothing happens. Also it’s inset enough where you have to intentionally kick or knee it. Since I have the saw elevated the 6x6 made an easy place to mount it. The tension on the screw sets the spring tension just right.
