    Forstner Bit Storage

How do you store your forstner bits so their not dinged but yet available and somewhat organized? Mine are scatter all over the place and I've got to do something. I probably bought several when I already had one.

Mine are in a shallow drawer by my drill press. I divided the drawer into compartments so each bit is in a slot and they never bang together.

I drilled some spaced holes in a piece of 2x4. Each bit sits in a separate hole. The whole thing is stored upright in a cabinet.

They came in a wooden box that works well for storage so I use that.

I plan to do what Lisa does. I currently do what Ralph does.

Me too. I left space for some additional sizes.

I too did what Ralph did. Word of caution. Do not run your arm across them when they are stored in this manner. Can and will cut the snot out of your arm. You don't need to ask how I know.

I would do the vertical in a board but do it the other way round, nose down. Less likely to snag you. Of course much harder to add one more in between sizes.

Mine came as a set in a box like this one except longer. 20 bits from 1/4" to 2-1/8":

Opps, cannot post images so here's a link to a picture of a 15 bit set:

I used some Kaizen foam in a drawer for some, and have a wooden case for some others. All stored in my mobile drill press cabinet.
