    free antivirus/protection software suite

    Did a search and found this topic was from 2012, so looking for some more recent info.
    Just got a email from comcast saying that Norton will no longer be free after 1/2021, so interested in what others are using on Win10 and win7 for malware etc.

    I get by just fine with only Windows Defender as my real time guardian. And supplement it with an occasional scan with CCleaner and Malwarebytes.

    No 'add on' security stuff for years. They seemed to cause more issues than they avoided.

    I've just used the built in Windows protection for several years. I would for sure avoid anything put out by Symantec.
