    Aging Pine

I need to remove a cabinet valance made with pine and need to cover the 2 edges with new pine. I believe the finish is clear mineral based urethane. How can I age the new pine so I get the best match with the old UV aged pine.

    Sunlight.

Seriously, there is always a conundrum here with this kind of thing because if you artificially color the new material darker, when it in-turn, darkens naturally, it may still stand out. But you can try just a hint of dye in your finish (must be compatible with oil based in your case) or use a light coat of wax free shellac first to add a bit of color before your top coats. It's a crap shoot long term, unfortunately.
