Very nice Robert! I really like the top on the first one - please tell us more about that!

What is the half-circle piece for on the back of the smaller end table?

Thanks, they are fun to build I also did this one a few months ago. If anyone know what the veneer is, let me know. It’s some king of quilted or burl the closest I’ve come is Pelin. I’m also curious about the wood. It was salvaged from a table with bamboo legs that my brother purchased on CA a number of years ago. I thought maybe Phillipine mahogany?

It’s crotch Mahogany with holly banding. The table is mahogany. Finished with shellac & wb urethane. Here a better pic of top.

The tail is for the lamp pole The second pic shows the lamp installed.

The second one was supposed to be a mock up. I had some native FL cherry which isn’t usually very remarkable, but when I threw some dye on it, the result was amazing.
