    Rattle Can Shellac

The can of shellac I have says it should be at room temperature to spray.

Well it's starting to cool down here in Wisconsin and I was wondering if it's okay to step into the garage to spray and then bring the project back into the house/basement to dry.

Shellac and wood would be at room temperature before spraying and while drying.

Yes, Shellac is pretty tolerant of temperature since it's an evaporative finish. Warm the product in your home. Warm the project components in your home. Sneak out to the garage to spray (shellac is always the thinnest coat(s) necessary anyway) and let it cure for a little bit and then bring it back inside. Rinse, repeat.
