Beautiful piece, masterfully executed, Derek!

Thanks all. I built this a few years ago.
This was posted by FWW on Instagram:
Derek Cohen of Perth, Australia, built this chest of drawers for his wife; it features figured Jarrah drawers and a makore frame-and-panel case. “Essentially, the design is a modern bombé, with tapered and curved sides, and a bow front. The drawers required compound dovetails,” he said. The top conceals a dressing-table mirror, and the top drawer has a hidden Quaker lock to protect a jewelry drawer with sliding trays.

Go into the world and do well. But more importantly, go into the world and do good.
Congratulations Derek - a very fine piece.

Well done, congratulations
Now, THAT'S the kond of recognition to start the new year! Mazel Tov!
Young enough to remember doing it;
Old enough to wish I could do it again.
That's a beaut Derek. You set a high bar for the rest of us indeed. I believe that one has shown up before here (or I saw it on your website) but it still exhibits that timeless, understated quality of finely crafted work.

I don’t get FWW, but I do hope they showed it with at least one drawer open. The dovetail work is second to none. Congrats, Derek!
I've said it before, but the most impressive thing about your work, to me, is not the technical quality (which is stellar), but your sense of proportion, space, etc. Technical perfection is something where you can punch above your weight if you take enough time doing it. But design elements are something where you've got the juice or your don't.
