Hi all - new to this type of work, trying to refinish an old guitar. I used a sprayer to apply several coats of Mohawk instrument lacquer, though I think I may have put on a few layers of aerosol Nitro laquer as well. It was looking pretty good before I tried to polish it, but after I did, a significant amount of the surface turned white. I sanded some of it away, but I'm wondering what I did wrong and if there's a way to fix it without sanding the whole things down and starting over.
Any advice is appreciated!
