    Mindful of Molding Away

An interesting post on molding at the Lost Art Press > https://blog.lostartpress.com/2020/0...s-in-practice/

Shown are some simple ways to make various moldings using a rabbet plane with hollows and rounds.

Also shown is using two different hollows to make an elliptical shape.

I have Matt's book and highly recommend it for anyone that is thinking about creating mouldings with hand planes. A very good theory explaining section up front, then actual plans on how to create a bazillion different profiles with hand planes. Besides, Lost Art Press books just look-feel-smell right when you hold them. Kindle bedamned.

Watching is entertaining… Making them is the real fun.

These were all made with #45 planes and possibly a round plane if not a fluting blade in the #45.
