Planning on building a bedroom set out of quartersawn white oak. Finish will be a two step process, medium brown stain, then a sealer, then light walnut stain to get the flak to pop. I plan on using Waterlox finishes. How do you feel about using grain filler on a piece like this? Finish should look a little more antiqued so would the grain filler detract from this look? I assume grain filler goes on the piece after it is glued up?
Thanks.
