    spear gun out of teak

    Here's the first project I did with my son (16 years old). He wanted to learn how to spear fish so we make a spear gun out of teak. I think it came out pretty good.

    yes we had to buy the trigger and the launcher (I don't remember what it really is called but you get the idea). We tried making the trigger out of some leftover teak but it came out really bad so we just bought one.

    Back in the early '60s Skin Diver magazine had an article on building wood spear guns refered to as "Addict Guns" - I built a few - still have a 6 ft blank of laminated walnut and yellow cedar in my wood pile

    Haven't seen a spear-gun since "Sea Hunt" went off TV! Good looking kid. And if you trust him to "use it only for good.
