After having some success using the electric outlet remote used normally at Christmas time to test on my dust collector and rotary phase converter I ordered 2 of the Link2Home units below. I'm using the 2nd outlet for a light to let me know if the machines are operating. This should be a real convenience as both the DC and RFC are at extreme ends of my shop.

They do work well and the cost of them makes it very affordable.
I have one for my DC which operates a contractor for it. It has magnetic bases. I have the remotes in several places and one is always at arm’s reach to turn it on.
My air filter came with a remote which is IT so there’s no crossover. They work well.
