Mahogany hamper with first ever carvings

I had some left over mahogany and we needed a new hamper. I also wanted to try carving. So this is my first attempt at carving. Each side has an identical Koi. Bottom is full of holes and a gap is held at the top for venting. It's just me and my wife and we don't put wet things in there anyway. The wife will empty it at less than half full most times anyway.

I love over kill elegance in utilitarian places! Projects like this remind me of the old magazines showing movie stars at
    home !

I've always wanted a nice hamper. I would actually enjoying throwing my dirty briefs in this.
