Thread: Is the Delta 18-900 Drill Press being discontinued?

Is the Delta 18-900 Drill Press being discontinued?

It suddenly seems to have disappeared from almost all of the principal retail sellers--Home Depot, Lowes, Amazon, etc.--after several of them offered "special purchase" discounts on existing stock. Some are available from smaller outlets, but often at close to full MSRP rather than the usual $1,500 or so.

I've messaged Delta's customer service but haven't heard anything back.

Just wondering. I'm in the market for a drill press and want to know if Delta is still an option.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting to hear back from Delta customer service, nor would I even consider buying any new Delta machine.

I have a Delta 18-900. If it walked off in the middle of the night, I'd go buy a Nova DVR drill press. You change speeds with a knob, instead of wrestling with belts.

Another vote here for the Nova DVR. The technology in this machine must have come from some visiting aliens. Sure beats moving some belts around. Check your local Woodcraft.
