    Powermatic 1200 Specs

Bought a Powermatic 1200 variable-speed drill press (unsure which generation) through a friend. Problem is, it's in Texas and I'm in California. I'm active duty and my command will not let me travel to Texas right now due to COVID19. I'm trying to work out options for having it shipped to me (along with a Makita 2030 planer/jointer combo). The manual I downloaded for the PM 1200 gives a weight of 600 lbs, but I just don't see how that can be correct, as the Makita's manual gives a weight of 330 lbs. A quick internet search is no help, giving me wildly varying weights. Does anyone actually have this drill press and can tell me what it actually weighs?

That is one hog of a DP and it being PM I would not be surprise that is what it weight in at. Has a huge cast iron table, which most of that beast is CI except hood. California should have few of these laying around,Makita is no comparison

Be careful and do not break the table trunnions. 600 pounds seems reasonable for a 20" DP. Have shipper lower table all the way or take it off. then lower head to the base as well.

I have a 70’s vintage 1150 with foot feed and it’s a little over 300 lbs. Powermatic’s crated weights are up there, but I doubt that 1200 uncrated weighs 600 lbs. Was the weight in the manual crated?
