    Refinishing a Fiberglass exterior door

Our fiberglass front door is 13 years old and needs to be refinished. I'm thinking an exterior stain followed by an exterior polyurethane.
Does this process seem OK ? If not what would you recommend?
Does anyone have any recommendations on particular brands of stain and polyurethane I should use?
Note that the door is on the front porch and not subject to too much sun or weather.

    Thanks

If it's fiberglass, why not just use a high quality exterior paint from SW or BM, etc.? Most "Polys" are not really great for exterior conditions, BTW.

General Finishes Exterior 450 WB Stains and Poly may be a good combination for you. Not sure about the stains, however, over fiberglass unless you can spray. I'd give GF a call to find out.

I refiinished my front door (fiberglass) 14 yrs ago, using gel stain to give an aged wood look. I used epiphanes marine varnish over that. Epiphanes will give multiple years protection. If you stain I Highly recommend Epiphanes over that. Not sure how well it would work over paint.
