    4axis closed loop control

I am working on a Workbee CNC 1500x1000 and want to upgrade the motors I am using. Through some research a closed loop system (hybrid or servo) sounds promising. Since I have a Dual motor drive on my Y axis is this possible? Has anyone heard of a system for the "hobbyist" that corrects all axis when/if a stepper losses a step? Currently I am running a GRBL control structure, I assume that this will have to be changed with this new system so if y'all have any recommendations, that would be greatly appreciated.

Currently Im running 1.26Nm Nema 23's that are 4yrs old & I want more power, possibly 3-4.5Nm range.

Stepperonline has some cost effective solutions and thats what ive considered the most.

I would take a look at Centroid Acorn. They have a great forum for the DIY'er
