A Kitchen Island made of Ash

The Boss wanted a new Kitchen Island....took a few days to get the design she wanted. Instead of 2 drawers, one on each end...she wanted just one drawer..

Instead of having to lift the old one, she wanted it to roll across the floor...

She wanted 2 shelves, the bottom one to hold her coke bottles...

A door to close a cabinet, to house all the cookie sheets, muffin pans and the like...
June Project, drawer handles, plugs installed.JPG
    And....she wanted a shiny top....

I tried to get as close as I could to the design she wanted...

Middle shelf is 3/4" plywood, with an edging of Ash....Sides of the drawer and it's back are pine

Ash front, half-blind dovetails. Back is housed in a dado. 1/4" Luann for the drawer bottom....all else is made from Ash

Gunstock stain/ BLO "Brew", then a couple coats of clear gloss poly....

I let her park this thing exactly where she wanted it.

It is always good to please the boss. I am sure she will keep you around now.

Custom-made to the customer’s specifications. She will love it. Janicewhokeepsmehumble is so happy to have her live-in cabinetmaker, carpenter, electrician, and plumber back working full time that she allocated funds for his shop.
