Jim K. Suggested testing. I’ve never done it before. Here is what I came up with. I used 2 pieces of the same board I was making the lid with. It’s just a 1x2 cedar furring strip. I planed 2 edges straight and square. I don’t match plane for this. It can make for a convex or concave surface that can rock or have a gap. I put a light coat of PVA glue on each surface and rubbed together until it started to stick and I could see a bead of glue on each side. Set it aside to dry for a while.
