    dado plane

Making a chest of drawers and enjoying cutting dados with HNT Gordon 3/4 inch dado plane. Wow, I was able to crank out these dados in 30 minutes. I had to do each side separately because the sides were slightly different in thickness.

It's nice when a tool does just exactly what it was supposed to do after being sharpened and set up as intended. I have never had the opportunity to try out an HNT G tool, but have always suspected they performed at the top of the line.

Having the right tool for the job can speed things up.

Are you going to add trim to the front or will they have the through dado look?

Jim, I am going to add some veneer to cover the through dado look. It was so much quicker to run it all the way from end to end. A stopped dado would be more work ( as you have illustrated some work arounds in some past postings )

Oooh, looks like a good project. And I'm trying to look way-the plane looks excellent. Will look forward to seeing more.

    Best,
