By the way - its also very appropriate. I wonder if it can be translated to the language spoken in Koala Lampur.

OK....let's go "easy" here folks. There's been plenty said about trolling. Let's get back to more normal things in life and woodworking. That's what this is all about any way.

    Hey CJ Conrad!
I like the quote you posted...

"It is better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt."--unknown

I have just begun opening my mouth here and I wish I had read that advice sooner!

Other words also come to mind:

"It is better not to begin, but if you begin it is better to finish."

    Another guilty party here.

Also afraid to step on toes.

Don't deal well with rules so its best to just read sometimes.

  14. I have never read the "rules" of SMC. I guess I better do that. Okay back from reading the rules. Stepford Wives? (Wait while I go look that one up)...Okay I am back. Nope, I don't think that SMC requires people to be perfect to post. My wife will assure that I am far from perfect, and I still post here. Try to do the best I can, and use common sense when I post. Although I have not done a formal intro yet. I am meaning to do that.

I just have to ask this though. Why is it an issue if someone just wants to "lurk", reading the posts and such? And I am not a "contributing member" in the sense I have not donated any money yet. I will. But it really shouldn't matter if someone wants to "just hang out" and enjoy the friendly banter and occassional tool talk that goes on here. I like this place very much. I like the people, especially the ones who like to try their hand at comedy. That's been a little lacking lately though. I have visited various woodworking forums, and this is the most civil, knowledgeable one out there. Thanks Guys.

See----I put up a post and the truth of my words (or that Twain guy's words) is immediately proven true!
