Thread: Lumber prices in your area?

  1. The place I usually get a lot from has several price points depending on the account and volume. After a snafu with an order they placed me at the lowest tier of pricing even though I do not buy a lot. The price for board foot dropped about $1.75. 4/4 maple is about $1.85, 8/4 ash was 2.19 last time, and cherry 4/4 3.25.

I’ve enjoyed this thread because it has put me in touch with some folks local to me. But the New Hampshire price list has nearly 50 line items for maple, so I have my doubts about how to compare the numbers in the thread.

IMHO Ignore everything but the RGH (rough) 4/4 prices.
I'd assume everyone was quoting rough 4/4 prices unless otherwise stated. skip, s3s, s2sr1e, and s4s are all more variable then just the base price.
