Shortages of disposable coveralls at retail

There seems to be a shortage of disposable coveralls at retailers. No stock anywhere I checked (Mostly checked retail stock online. Only visited one store.). Are people thinking that disposable coveralls are going to protect them from COVID-19, or simply more demand due to more DIY projects? Are these used for medical use?

I wanted a couple pairs of disposable coveralls for doing some paint spraying. I finally found real Dupot Tyvek coveralls with shoe covers and hoods for about $9 at McMaster-Carr. Even with shipping this was a good price for two sets of actual Tyvek coveralls. Uline.com won't sell disposable coveralls to anyone who hasn't previously ordered the same SKU from them.

Brian, you are surprised? Remember the dirty bomb scare after 9/11 when people wrapped their homes in plastic sheeting?
