secretary deck hinge locations

Need to location the hinges for the slant top on the Secretary desk I'm making and I really don't want to screw it up. I little advise from someone who has made one would be appreciated.

The best way to do this is to make a mock up. As with any butt hinge, you don't want it too tight near the hinge so you make sure not to get a binding situation. We have no idea what kind of hinge you are using, so advice will just be guess work.

Hinges are from Horton and Brass look just like the ones Mark shows. But I think a mock up is a good idea.
