Stay At Home Project - Desktop Organizer

Like many, I've been working from home for the last few weeks. I've been surprisingly busy and only able to spend short periods in my shop. I've been picking away at this little box for three or four weeks. The design is based on Paul Sellers' desktop organizer project but with a few tweaks. I made it a little larger and taller and the drawer uses standard grooved sides with a slip in bottom. Materials are clear red oak for the majority, with some curly red oak for the top and drawer pull. Finish is 24 hours of ammonia fuming and a coat of natural danish oil. The interior is unfinished. I'll wax it after a couple days. It was my first attempt at half blind dovetails and after an initial miscue they turned out great.

It is a nice looking piece Rob.

My problem is my desk would need to be cleaned off to find room for it.

Looks good Rob. I really like the warmth of a fumed finish.

    Best,
