    Ashe vase with wedges

Today l show you how i made a Vase out of ash tree wood

The log was 164 KG at the beginnig

The hollowing was quite hard when i got closer to the core wood, the tool was jumping a lot

il use several wooden wedges the stop the big crack and in the core wood to avoid the cracks there as well

I sanded it up to 500 grit, then i used woodturner oil for the first finish to dry it much slower

    High: 51cm
    Diameter: 46cm
    Thickness: 10mm

    hope you enjoy it

I think you need a bigger drill bit. Nice job.

What is the technique for putting the bowties into a turning? Specialty tools? Are there any resources (tutorials, demos or videos) to show this?

    Nice work!

That is impressive. Very well done.
When working I had more money than time. In retirement I have more time than money. Love the time, miss the money.
