    NOS white "Washita"

What should I expect from this stone? I am trying to decide whether to use it, or put and back in the drawer, all brand new, still. I use water stones now...I know, I know, I should probably just give it a whirl, but this website is great for working in the shop without leaving the couch.

Being a Hall stone, it should be good, but, if you're comfortable with Waterstones, why leave? I say that, because Washita stones bring premium dollars on _bay and yours looks unused! Might get enough out of it to step up to a really premium Waterstone.

By the way, I have a number of Washita stones and use several of them regularly. I use Marvel Mystery oil on them (get it at Wallywart, cheap), and follow up on a hard Arkansas & strop. I doubt if I paid more than a couple of bucks for any of the oilstones I have, unless I wanted the carved case more than the stone.

    Sell it to me, then.

I dropped my Lily White two years ago and the epoxy has begun to abrade.

I think I am wondering if it's a Washita, or just a "washita".

    I believe lower case!

I would negotiate it in lower case . Own it in upper case. Refuse to make it capital case.
