    Problem with DeWalt DW733 Planner

It is leaving a high spot the length of the board 1/8" wide and maybe .030 high. Thought it was the cutting knives but I installed a new set same thing.

You sure it’s not the knives? Can’t really be anything else.

About the only way that can happen is if your board is kicking up as it leaves the planer.

That sounds like a nick in the knives to me, I have a 733 and I can't imagine anything else that could leave a raised track like that.

Loosen and slide the knives right and left to offset the nicks in the blades.
Never, under any circumstances, consume a laxative and sleeping pill, on the same night

If it was a low spot like that, it could easily be a piece of a knot of other damage in the machine. But a raised one? That means all the wood is being machined around that streak. Check if something is damaged or stuck inside the machine that could have nicked the new knives too.

With the knives in place check them with a good straightedge. Also tap tap tap along the knives to see if the sound changes.
