    Insert tooling tightening torque

For those of you who use insert tooling, do you bother torquing the insert knife mounting screws? If so, what torque do you use? Amana Tool specifies 2-3 Nm, but when I break one of their screws loose, it seems like it's much tighter than that.

I sure don't measure anything....I just crank 'em down. The small wrenches have a bit of a bend anyway. What you do want to avoid is camming out the fasteners...

I know that you are suppose to torque the tools but I never have and have seen no ill effect for it. In fact I have never seen anyone torquing the tools down unless they were operating a very large, robust heavy duty CNC with very large HP spindles. For most of here that probably doesn't apply.
