24v out to Ruida controller not working

    Hi all,

I searched the posts but couldn't find an answer for this.

I have 130w Chinese CO2 laser. After taking some bits apart to paint, the controller wouldn't start up. I had power to every other part. I connected a 24v adapter to the 24v in on the controller and it fired up, so I guess the power from the laser power supply is dead.

Does anyone know how I can fix this? Is there a fuse inside the power unit?

    Thanks in advance,

    Gerard

From my experience, and from other's I've read in these pages over the years, the fix is almost always to just replace the power supply.

At least the Chinese laser versions are fairly reasonable. 'Western' machine PS pricing can border on ludicrous...

Thanks for reply. The laser is supposed to be 130w but it's got a 100w tube (typical Chinese seller). What wattage of power supply should I be looking at?

The power supply that runs the tube is completely different from the supply that runs the controller.

And it worked before you took it apart, could that be a clue?
