I am considering getting a reciprocating chisel power carver for medium sized projects. I currently have an angle grinder with arbortech and Saburr discs for hogging, a Makita die grinder with various burrs and a Dremel. I'd like to cut down the dust production when roughing out. I am looking at the Automach HCT 30A and one of the various flex shaft handpieces.

I like the freedom of movement of the automach but I wonder how handy it is. Can it be used one handed? Also, I have seen some suggestions that it is prone to problems and expensive to repair. How does it compare to a flexshaft tool, and do you have any recommendations for specific handpiece (Foredom, Mastercarver, Wecheer)?
