I see companies (Amana, Bits & Bits) that have coatings on some router and CNC bits and claim that they lead to faster cut speeds and a longer life of the bit, although I don't see this substantiated anywhere? Is there any proof of this? I've looked on both sites for info on studies or scientific data, which I thought for sure would be out there, but can't find anything. Why are we supposed to believe their claim? Anyone know of any proof out there that these coatings actually do anything?
