    Bill, like your bottom line(not sure what it is called). I had a similar one in a poster over my desk back in the 70's. It read "Although you think you understand what you thought you heard me say, what you don't realize is that what I said was not what I meant" (from memory but somehow I can't remember my email password )
    Another one from same era by memory sign in used car lot "Guaranteed not to rust, bust, boil, spoil, or split at the seams" and then in very fine print "until you drive it off the lot".
