    Felder outrigger trolley

Was having lunch with one of my customers yesterday who has a saw/shaper and jointer/planer (and who also happens to have one of the nicest garage-shops I’ve seen). Someone here was talking about the 1500-series outrigger recently. Chris has the trolley and allowed me to take a few pics. It’s not a well-documented Felder accessory and there is definitely some “switch-ology” in terms of dismounting and re-mounting the frame table but if you happen to have the 1500mm outrigger and ESPECIALLY if you happen to have the optional Kappa crosscut fence with DRO’s and plan on removing the outrigger on any sort of a regular basis, I would definitely take a look at this item. Also, you can see his setup with Mac’s Airtight clamps and the Brian Lamb DRO parallel fence, as well as the power feeder tipper bracket with gas piston assist (which, unbelievably, lets you swing that huge-ass Comatic over with one hand). Chris pretty much has the “perfect KF700SP” in my opinion.

I have this and can say it is worth it even if you only plan to remove the outrigger a few times.

I did have to play with the location of the mounts from Felder recommended on the outrigger to get the fence from hitting the floor but I think thats cuz i have a wood “nose” on my fence. Also stores nicely under the outfeed table

That's a sweet machine, good taste in accessories! Getting that outrigger off without a little mechanical advantage is zero fun, good to see one of those carts in action.

Definitely one of my retirement toys.
