First of Many Projects Inspired By All at SAWMILLCREEK

    Hello Everyone,

Long story short I decided I was going to renovate my house top to bottom and build all my cabinets. I decided to start with the Master Closet to get my feet wet and if I made any happy mistakes, and I did, it wouldn't be too big a deal. This project started early December and I am done with all the cabinetry. WhenI first got this crazy Idea I didn't even have a table saw! However, I picked up a good deal on a saw stop and have been accumulating more and more tools tools as the weeks go by.

I am hoping this gives some inspiration to others starting out who may be on the fence about tackling wood working. I can't tell you how many times I searched/browsed these forums to find information when I was in a jam or just needed some inspiration. All the regulars that post here you have helped me more than you know so I sincerely thank you!

I learned a lot on this build of what to do and what not to do.... To make my life easier I will definitely stick with overlay doors and drawers ( Inset is challenging).

Thanks again and I hope my success can help others new to woodworking take a leap of faith! Just remember there isn't anything money or more tools can't fix!

Really ambitious first project and it turned out great! To do all that in a few months, starting with few tools is a real accomplishment!

Those came out nice. I think you chose well to make mostly shallow drawers and even to have the rods fairly compartmentalized.
What are the dimensions of the closet?

It looks like you have some burn marks on the edges of the plywood before you put on the trim. Do you know what is causing that? I'd recommend getting your saw and technique adjusted to minimize that, as this usually represents something you don't want, like lateral pressure on your blade. Check your blade/fence/splitter alignment, and your infeed/outfeed support for the plywood.

    Matt
