Old Street Tool

Just wanted to give a shout out to Larry and Don at Old Street Tool. I've been considering getting a wooden foreplane and a couple of weeks ago I made the drive (~ 4 hours) to visit Larry and Don at Old Street Tool to try out some of their planes and get some hands on instruction (since I have never used wooden planes before). I had a great time taking their planes for a spin, and they were more than accommodating.

I also wanted to pass along that they no longer are backed up, and currently, typical lead times are around 4 weeks.

I took a weekend class with Don and Larry at Kelly Mehler’s school several years ago, and their knowledge of making and using wooden planes is unbelievable. Great guys to be around also.
