My shop is small, plus I don't rip long stock much so instead of an outfield table I use a roller stand. Also the fence on my saw is supported on the back such that any outfield table will involve a 4" gap. To improve the situation I made this mini outfield table fastened to the fence. It extends support from 5 1/2" past the blade to 12". That's a significant improvement and greatly assists in spanning the gap to the roller.

Actually the fence provided the start of this table with that triangle flare. The angle was a hazard because it caused the stock to twist into the blade.
