next up? still some wood left

And...thinking about resawing them down to 3/8" or so.....like right down the center...

Bandsaw merely burns it's way along.....likes to wander a bit, too..

Might try the tablesaw....to cut a 2" deep kerf all the way around.....then use the handsaw to finish the cuts.....could just go to 1" or 1-1/2" deep....

As to what I will do with a stack of 3/8" thick boards....that remains to be seen....might even find a use for a 1/8" wide chisel....

Might see about some shop time, later this week...

    Stay tuned...

I know I have done that in the past, I just don't remember why I did it; it has been a while. The nice thing is that I clearly established the path that the saw should take into the wood.

    Then this contraption..
    Resaws, rip saw.JPG
    Hey...real saw dust!
    Resaws, real sawdust.JPG
    left a few lines..
    Resaws, saw results.JPG
    Which meant even more Cardio...
    Resaws, inside face cleaned up.JPG
    Had a few narrow scraps..
    Resaws, start up.JPG
That won't require a rip saw...
    Resaws, narrow stuff.JPG
Just a few swipes with the smooth plane. Thinking these will make a drawer, or two, while the rest will make a box to hold the drawers...
    Might be enough..
    Resaws, the outside faces.JPG
To even make a lid with....

    Stay tuned

The culprits to making all of this?
    Resaws, 3 amigos.JPG
Stanley No. 3, Type 11.....WR No. 62.....Millers Falls No.14 ( no camber) Jack plane...got about half of the resaws planed, some needed both faces done...
    Resaws, half way done.JPG

Soooo...do you think this plane might be too big?
    Resaws, overkill, maybe.jpg
    Stanley No. 6c, Type 10 ( 2 patent dates)......maybe?

Well, anyway, this is how I do resaws in my shop....and get a cardio workout to boot. Will end this thread here, as the wood will go to a Box build thread. Will start the build thread later this week.

Thanks for looking in! Beats planing a 3/4" thick board down to 5/16" thick...too much waste, that way....

Boss wants to go shopping...with the "driver" being me...I guess I have to go along..
