Santa Maria wood/ never heard of it

Ever heard of Santa Maria wood? I am thinking about retiring and moving to the city of Santa Maria, California. I did not find anyone actually selling it from stock. Never heard of it before. Makes it hard to find a lumber supplier in town! Ther eare several in San Luis Opesbo 30 miles north.

I had a piece of this. From Central America. I think I made a picture frame out of it. Heavy, dark brown with yellow sapwood. I remember liking it but it wasnt available in big enough pieces to do something major with.

EDIT. I checked the place I got it from and they have some slabs and more: http://store.greenerlumber.com Its a company in Macon Missouri that specializes in recovering CA sinker logs and often has some interesting stuff.
