    Powermatic 26 spindle question

I’m looking to expand my cabinet shop capabilities to doors. I’ve found a couple of Powermatic 26 5hp 3phase shapers with 1” spindles that I’m going to pick up this week. Can the spindles be replaced with 1 1/4? Or will t bushings work well enough? I feel like they are pretty good deals. Any advice before I pull the trigger will be greatly appreciated.

    I have a Delta 43-375 with a 1" spindle. I use T-bushing adapters to run 1-1/4" cutters. Works fine.

Shannon bushing 1 1/4'' cutters is not a problem. I would research the Powermatic 26 shaper more. Not sure the spindle/bearings in these machines are heavy enough for the work you want to do. Others have posted here about issues with spindle cartridge/bearings not being big enough to handle heavier use.
