    20" Disc Sander

I have an older 20" Central Machinery disc sander that needs a motor. I bought it used knowing that and the seller gave me 3 imported junk motors with it to scrap. He stated that none of them worked for long and I would like to put a decent motor on it. Needs to be single phase and I am thinking Leeson 2hp single phase, but only because their rep is fairly close. Is there a better one?

With the exception of the dust collection port and location of the start/stop switch looks identical to many of the newer ones on the market. Does anyone know the correct model and frame number for one of these?

Not sure how fast you want to spin a 20" disc, but I suspect you will want a 1750 rpm motor, not 3500 rpm. A Baldor TEFC would be the gold standard.
    NOW you tell me...

My Woodtek uses a 3hp, and so does Jet. Starting load is huge on these sanders.
