    Finish Old Baby Basket

    I have an old baby basket that I assume my brother and I spent time in back in 1941 - 1946. I also assume that it's covered in lead paint. I'm wondering whether I can spray on a good coat of a clear finish to stabilize it and make it usable now (a friend has a brand new baby). If I can get it in a spray can instead of having to use a power sprayer, that would be a big plus.

    I'd appreciate any suggestions.

    It is likely not lead in that application and color. There is a wipe test for lead. Ask at your paint store. If it is lead paint, landfill is the place for it.
