    Ball series

Today I show you the making of a small ball series of yew-, apple- and an unknown wood from Tyrol. I turned the pieces of wood first to a cylinder and then roughly into
the contours of a ball by hand, then I turned the ball shape with the ball turning device. I sawed off the cones and clamped the ball again into the ball turning
device and sanded it up to grain 500. Finally I treated the balls with linseed oil.

Well done. I just love spheres, they just cry out to be held. Even though I love them sooo much I can't sell them unless they are enhanced or textured or ???? Best of luck and keep posting Roger!

I think this equates nicely to wood turning as well . . . . .

Nice job! I love turning spheres. A good exercise is to try to turn them all the same size by hand - Mark StLeger is the best I know at this!

Northern Italy is my favorite place to visit - we are headed there again in a few months. I've never been to Germany other than going from plane to train but this trip we plan a short stop before heading south, just one day in Munich.
